Gift Card Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions
1.1 By purchasing and/or using a Shore City gift card (Gift Card) you accept these terms and conditions. Any other person who uses your Gift Card will also be bound by these terms and conditions.
1.2 Shore City may change these terms and conditions from time to time by uploading the changed/new terms and conditions to the Shore City website. The changes shall be applicable from the date they are uploaded to the Shore City website. The terms and conditions will also be available at the Shore City customer service desk.
1.3 There are three distinct categories of Gift Card that are redeemable at different retailers within Shore City – General Gift Cards, Specialty Fashion Gift Cards, and Food & Services Gift Cards.
1.4 General Gift Cards are redeemable for goods or services sold at any of Shore City’s Participating Retailers.
1.5 Specialty Fashion Gift Cards are redeemable for goods or services sold at any of Shore City’s following Participating Specialty Fashion Retailers:
Amazon, Barkers, Country Road, Cue, duck Limited, Flying Saucers, Glassons, Hartleys, Jacqui.E, Just Jeans, Merchant, Mirrou, Platypus, Portmans, Rembrandt, Rodd & Gunn, Stirling Sports & Veronika Maine.
1.6 Food & Services Gift Cards are redeemable for goods or services sold at any of Shore City’s following Participating Food & Services Retailers:
Kota Café, Imperial India, The Lantern, Blazin N Burger, Phat Phillip & Tank Juice
1.7 Kiosks operated by third parties will not accept Gift Cards. Les Mills gym, and No1 Currency, are not Participating Retailers, Participating Specialty Fashion Retailers, or Participating Food & Services Retailers. Additionally, Farmers and New World are not Participating Specialty Fashion Retailers or Participating Food & Services Retailers.
1.8 You can load Gift Cards with any amount between $10 and $995. You may not purchase additional credit to be added onto the Gift Card, you must purchase a new Gift Card.
1.9 General Gift Cards will expire 12 months from the date of purchase. Specialty Fashion and Food & Services Gift Cards will expire on the date listed on the card. Any unused balance as at the expiry date will be forfeited and cannot be refunded to the Gift Card holder or original purchaser of the Gift Card or transferred to another Gift Card.
1.10 You can check the balance and expiry date of your Gift Card online at www.shore-city.co.nz or at the Shore City Customer Service Desk.
1.11 Gift Cards cannot be returned, exchanged for cash or used to buy another gift card. Change will also not be given.
1.12 Please treat your Gift Card like cash. Keep your Gift Card in a safe place as Shore City will not replace lost or stolen cards.
1.13 Do not allow any other person to use your Gift Card and do not give your Gift Card number to any unauthorised person. Do not interfere with the magnetic strip or barcode on your Gift Card or in any other way deface, alter or tamper with your Gift Card as this will void your Gift Card.
1.14 Shore City is not liable for the availability, quality or fitness for purpose of any goods or services purchased with the Gift Card. If you have a dispute about goods or services you have purchased using a Gift Card you must resolve the dispute with the Participating Retailer, Participating Specialty Fashion Retailer, or Participating Food & Services Retailer (as the case may be) from where you purchased the goods or services.
1.15 If you return any goods, you cannot obtain a reimbursement of funds to your Gift Card. The Participating Retailer, Participating Specialty Fashion Retailer, or Participating Food & Services Retailer (as the case may be) is responsible for providing a refund or store credit for goods or services, subject to the terms and conditions under which the original purchase was made, and your rights and the Participating Retailer’s obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
1.16 If you think there has been an error in a transaction involving your Gift Card (for example where too much has been deducted from the value of the Gift Card for a purchase), you should contact the Participating Retailer, Participating Specialty Fashion Retailer, or Participating Food & Services Retailer (as the case may be) where the error was made to rectify the error.
1.17 Shore City may cancel any Gift Card, or the Gift Card programme, for any reason, at any time and without notice. If Shore City do cancel, Shore City shall refund or replace with an alternative Gift Card the balance on valid Gift Card.
1.18 Shore City may ask you to provide personal information for the purposes of setting up your Gift Card. Any use by Shore City of your personal information shall be subject to Shore City’s privacy policy.
